Short post because I need to go to bed.

I went to my office tonight. (First time since March 25.) I knew I needed to get out of this pit of depression I've been drifting into. I called Janet (still no clever LJ name) and she came over to see me and to pray. Well, we ended up talking about many things including my struggles with everyone's apathy burning me out. We started off there and she totally got where I was coming from - in fact she's recently been there herself. This is the difference between talking to someone who is supportive but can't empathize and some one who is in the same boat. After we talked my issues to death we ended up talking about many other things, including a shared love of dance, family situations, etc. I thought we had talked for a hour and a half, but since no one set the clock for day light savings time, it was actually 2 1/2 hours. And in the end she prayed for me and I for her. So, I feel renewed (at least for this week). I am canceling the 30 Hour Famine, but am still ready to spend the hours I would have devoted there to working on many outstanding projects on my Youth Ministry things to do list.

Janet is awesome. She's in her 50's. (She has a 29 year old son.) If you saw her, you would think she looked like any other middle aged woman. But, she's one of those people who when you really get to know them you find out how cool they really are. She was interviewed on CBC radio several years back. It was when Harry Potter was relatively new and some people were (over-reacting) and saying the book could promote witchcraft among kids. CBC wanted to do a 5 minute interview with a committed Christian who actually like the Harry Potter books and somehow, they ended up with Janet.

And part of Monday was spent discussing our views on dance. It's almost like the more I talk to her the more I realize how much we have in common, despite the fact that she could almost be my mom.

Since she is probably going to be a fixute in my life, I should really give her an LJ name.

Potter might be an idea.

I am glad she makes you happy. :)

Actually, you gave me an idea.

I'm going to try Hedwig as an LJ name.

Thanks for the train of thought ...
