What is PVC anyway? How does it different from regular generic vinyl?

I was late for work this morning because I stayed to watch Grace eat cereal by herself. (It was slightly disconcerting to watch her put the handle end of the spoon in her eye and ear, but that's another story ...)

The Friday 5

1. What do you do for a living?

I have 2 jobs. I work 20 hours a week as a "youth ministry coordinator" and 22 hours a week as a civil servant for the federal government.

2. What do you like most about your job?

My Youth position - I love the interaction with the teens. All the prep work I do, the meetings and phone calls, and the encouraging other in their ministry is all for those moments I personally get to interact with them. Knowing I am playing a small part in the spiritual development of another person is a awe-inspiring and sobering thought.

At the government - the paycheque, the paycheque, and the paycheque. (The free exercise classes, highspeed internet, and occasionally seeing Hunter are bonus perks too.)

3. What do you like least about your job?

My Youth position - Sometimes the criticism of other adults/parents drives me crazy.

At the government - Management constantly treating me like I'm stupid, the lack of fairness in the promotion system, and the politics (especially around bilingualism.)

4. When you have a bad day at work it's usually because _____...

My Youth position - I feel like a failure when something I planned for and prayed for didn't work. I wonder if I did something wrong and whether I failed God and the teens.

At the government - Of something management did or said.

5. What other career(s) are you interested in?

I used to be interested in law, (I have a law degree), but I couldn't realistically see myself practising even if I was offered the chance on a silver platter.

I am a writer and would love to be published.

Mostly, I would love to be a full-time mom and keep my part-time job in ministry. I wouldn't mind working every night and Saturday if I could watch my kids during the week.
