I really don't know anyone, myself included, who tries in Texas (or Florida for that matter) to look good on a DL photo. No matter what we do, it's going to look like a mugshot. So, may as well look criminal.

And I usually pull mine out twice a week ... I get carded a LOT! Do I really look that young? COOL!

My driver's license photos usually look pretty awful, so I just go in as is. My gets viewed a lot because out here a lot of places check licenses when you use a credit card.

Florida's used to look like mug shots. You actually got to pick your photo on the license. They have a program that lets you see the shot in the best light, not over- or under-exposed.

I was blessed with a fairly good photo here nonetheless.

You said that Texas doesn't have photo licences. Is that true?

No, I didn't mean to insinuate that. We do have photo licenses. Sorry for being confusing.

That seems to be a recurring theme. Almost every American who did this picked the 11 or more because they are always I.D.-ed. It never occured to me because I don't write cheques.

Every time I rent a car, they want to see my license. That's not too often - but over five years it adds up. One license photo showed a cycling jersey 'cause I biked to the license bureau! I've shown the license for a few other things, too.

Is this renting a work related car or do you not own a car?

We own one car

and with two people, plus living in Munster, that means renting occasionally for convenience, car maintenance, etc.

Re: We own one car

That makes sense. My mom has a cousin who has a license, but no car. When she lived downtown in an apartment, she found it cheaper to rent one as needed a few times a year vesus the payments and the maintainance on owning one.
