It isn't every night that I buy a $125 bra, but it came with a matching belt. :)

Seriously, I had thought about making one for a long time. I even have material that matches my harem pants. But, when you have no idea what you are doing, it's a really tricky process. Here's a link to what it looks like, except that mine is turquoise blue.

I finished making a striped caftan/dress to wear to the show on Sunday. Zelia even lent me a belt to wear with the dress. But now, I'm thinking of wearing the bra, belt, and harem pants instead. It does leave my stomach exposed, but I figure no one will really care. 80% of the audience will be other dance students, and quite frankly, I'm not the most overweight woman who's ever danced with her stomach bared.

I'm also thinking of buying the belt she lent me. This is what it look like, except mine is black velvet with silver coins and beads.

(And it's even called the Venus belt!)

In other news, we bought paint on Monday. Peach, light green and dark purple. GF wants to do the top half one colour and bottom half another, with a purple stripe around the middle. I'm not convinced this is a good idea, but am reserving comment until I see his vision. (Why does this sound like an episode of Trading Spaces.) Total cost for 3 gallons of paint - $30. (Normally one gallon is $36.)

And I finally finished cleaning my office as church. It doesn't sound like an accomplishment, except that it got messy last summer when I dumped things I didn't have time to sort on my couch just before the back-to-school business. So, this is the first time people can sit on my couch since summer of 2003!

I'm so excited. I've been doing this on and off since 1998 and these are my first professional costume pieces.

Only one more class, and then I'm going to miss it again.
