|Miscellaneous Pentecost thoughts

1) Today is Pentecost. I wore my red blouse and the boots that are my LJ icon. (It's all I have that's red.)|
2) Taken from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe:
"Ooh!" said Susan, "I thought he was a man. Is he - quite safe? I shall feel rather nervous about meeting a lion."
"That you will dearie, and no mistake," said Mrs Beaver; "if there's anyone who can appear before Aslan without their knees knocking, they're either braver than most or just silly."
"Then he isn't safe?" said Lucy.
"Safe?" said Mr Beaver; "don't you hear what Mrs Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? 'Course he isn't safe. But he's good. He's the King, I tell you."
Wow! He's good. He's the King. ... But He isn't safe.
3) Today's weird quote ...
My husband coordinates monthly lunches at church. Today was the one until October. He made a peanut butter and chocolate cheesecake at my request and then told me he didn't think it was up to his usual cheesecake standards. He asked my opinion. Me: "Women probably view cheesecake the way men view sex. There is good, better, and amazing. Sometimes, it's comparatively better than others, but bottom line is that bad cheesecake is a contradiction in terms."
4) The shower Mom had for her best friend's son's fiancee went well. I stayed at Mom and Dad's and did some sewing.
5) Mom and Dad offered to take our daughter for the 8 days we want to go to Pennsic. It's tempting. Tyr is really opposed to this as he doesn't think Mom and Dad can handle 8 days of her. I'll have to decide this tomorrow.
